Assignment 3 - Task 2 - Production

Production
We got the camera, tapes, tripod and microphone from the school which we used to film our advert. Since we filmed our advert in the shed, my shed has lots of windows so lighting was no problem when filming the film as it was always light. The lightening was bright enough that you could see what was happening on the screen and dim enough that its not blinding. What we did before we started shooting our advert, we wrote a short script for the actors so they know what to say and what to do. I told the person who was operating the camera where to put it and what to do with it. Before we started filming, we made sure there was nothing on the set that the actors or crew were going to trip up and there were no hazards that was going to disrupt our filming. After we finished filming for one day, we would look over the footage to make sure that everything that we filmed was okay to put into our final advert and that it was all appropriate for the product that we were advertising.

Process of Editing the Advert
When we thought that we filmed enough for the advert we decided to upload the footage to Final Cut Express and go over it. Once we were satisfied that we had all the shots that we needed to edit and make the advert we began to start making clips of shots and start organising them. We would find a clip in the footage that we thought was apropriate for the advert and organise it in relation to how the advert goes. We would label the clips so we know where they would go in the film. We would then put the clips in order of the advert so the advert would have a rough story to it. We then added other clips into it to make the final finished product. When finished we would convert the format of the film to what the format is for YouTube.
